Eye of the Beholder

Eye of the Beholder. Pencil and Soft Pastel. 2017
Everybody sees the world in a different way, and I decided to depict that by focusing on the iris, the part of the eye that people notice most. People's eyes allow them to see the world, but they each see it differently. Color looks different to people; nature looks different to people. The way people see other's is different as well. For instance, I see the flaws in my drawing because I am the person who created it. Meanwhile, someone who looks at it for a few seconds might not see all the flaws I do. We each have a different perspective of things. It all depends on the eye of the beholder.
